Community Members Share Success of National Solidarity Programme

Kabul, November 20, 2008 -
Representatives from more than 20 Community Development Councils (CDCs) gathered in Kabul recently to share with members of the international community the impact the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) has had on their community and their lives. (read more)


MRRD/NSP/DSCRW project - Handover of Zarghoon Shahr High School, Mohammad Agha District of Logar Province to Ministry of Education

KABUL, 29 July, 2008 -
Zarghoon Shahr High School of Mohammad Agha district of Logar province has been constructed through the MRRD/NSP/DSCRW programme. The school costing, USD 292,000 was handed over to MoE on 23 July 2008. The school building is consists of 39 rooms, 24 classrooms, principal office, head teachers and teacher's offices as well as rooms designed for library and laboratory. Despite Challenging Environment the NSP is Making Significant Progress in Building Community Institutions in Rural Afghanistan, Finds World Bank Report

KABUL, 4 February, 2007-
According to the report – Implementation Completion and Results Report of the National Solidarity Programme I – the NSP has reached over 15.4 million Afghans (around 81 percent of Afghanistan’s rural inhabitants) since its inception in 2003. As January 24, 2008, some 19,100 communities have been mobilized while 18,303 communities have successfully elected Community Development Councils (CDCs). (read more English, Dari, Pashto)


Community Development Distribution Reaches USD $400 million in Four Years

School Opening Creates Space for More Than Two Thousand Students
